"We dedicate this one to the soldiers fighting in Milwaukee, and, uh, Chicago"

There's an entire blog dedicated to Jimi Hendrix's banter. It's called, not surprisingly, Jimi Banter.

My favorite Jimi banter is the one before "Machine Gun" on the "Band of Gypsys" album. It's both funny and touching - but after that 10-minute Stratocaster blitzkrieg, that banter sounds so meaningful.

It's sad that I am such a Jimi fanboy I find even his banter profound.

I wanted to marry Hendrix, Marley and there was another whom I forgot...
Not because of their star status, but becouse of their deep profound brilliance....Oh well, I have to confess I always wanted to be a grupie

Simmi,

Thanks for that link. Good luck with the exhibition in Delhi!

(The painting of the young man with the gas mask with the molotov cocktail in his hand is, for lack of a better word, very cool :))

You can get done barking orders at me, and then we'll get on with the show, OK? Or actually, let's have a moment of silence for 60's nostalgia. I don't even remember the 60's. But I did remember the words to Desolation Row.

Q: What do you say to a one-legged hitchhiker?
A: Hop in

Q: What do you call a psychic midget who's just escaped from prison?
A: A small medium at large.

We got a case of broken strings. I didn't mean to say that we've got a whole case full of broken strings, but we got a case of .... case of... Anyway, we've got a broken string. So we're going to FIX it!

You're probably wondering why we called you all here tonight. The upshot of it is, that one of ya is a Venusian spy. We believe that this spy will reveal him/his or herself shortly.

... and many many more. i strongly recommend the "yellow dog" story -- too long to post here!

Yup, Weir is funnier :) (and note that he also makes a reference to Dylan. Must be a 60s thing.)
