Now They Tell Us

It's official. Homework is "at best a waste of time and at worst a source of tedious vexation." That sound you hear is the sound of a billion parents sobbing guiltily. (Link to Slate.com)

I am proud to say that I had figured this one out all by myself at the age of six.

Apparently my kids figured it out too. :( Now if only the system will catch up with them.

At least kids here don't get the dreaded "imposition". Remember that? Write a poem 1000 times....

At worse, it can be far more than "tedious vexation".

I have four hours of physical chemistry replacing anything productive or remotely enjoyable tonight.

"Tedious vexation" doesn't even begin to describe the suffering ahead.

Salil: could be worse. Like 4 hours of Organic chemistry?

Debatable. I'd say Physical chem can cause more pain, simply because I survived two semesters of organic chem. last year. There was plenty of pain, but nothing as bad as half of what my textbook's putting me through now.
