Birdie Num Num

"I woke early one morning, The earth lay cool and still When suddenly a tiny bird Perched on my window sill, He sang a song so lovely So carefree and so gay, That slowly all my troubles Began to slip away. He sang of far off places Of laughter and of fun, It seemed his very trilling, brought up the morning sun. I stirred beneath the covers Crept slowly out of bed, And gently lowered the window And crushed its fucking head."

I miss some old-school games. "Chidiya Ud" is NOT one of them. Still, this site here has instructions and if you have never played this game AND happen to have a split personality, you can just play against yourself.

Just don't crush your partner's fingers if you lose, ok?

While sitting 'neath an oak one morn
In thought on this and that,
A tiny, twitt'ring little bird
A load dropped in my hat.

"Oh tiny bird, O Nature's gift
Of music and of wit!
Why didst thou feel that my best hat
Was thy best place to shit?"

"Thy music gladdens my poor soul,
And brings joy to my heart.
But tell me, little bird divine,
Why didst thou not just fart?"

The tiny bird a few notes sang,
Then answer'd "Pardon me,
For thy hat I thought was my nest,
A-fallen from the tree."

I rose and stood in solemn awe
His words to better mull,
Then lifted up a paving block
And crushed his fucking skull.

oh man, chidiya ud is awesome. and i loved playing that five stones game too.

but the best childhood game is pitthu. nothing compares. nothing is quite as much fun. and if the ball being used is a leather cricket ball, all the better. heehee.

Rahul: And that settles the question, "which OS has produced the best poets". I hadn't seen that one before.

Scout: If crushing the skull or shattering the spine is the general idea, why stop at a leather cricket ball and not play with a shotput or a real cannonball? :)

Can't take credit for the bird-skull crushing at all. was something one of my freshmen year roommate's had up. (I had Sylvia Plath because I am lame).

Chidiya Ud was stupid. who put that kid in charge anyway?

BM: well, you were briefly in the running for the "Noble Prize" for literature.

//Sylvia Plath? Really? Not Jim Morrison too, I hope?
