Indy Movie

The last few days, I have been reading every bad review of the new Indiana Jones movie. I want to know just how bad the screenplay is and how the movie is utterly charmless and that there's not one funny line in it for Indy. I have also been reminding myself, mostly by remembering the fourth "Star Wars" movie, that George Lucas can inflict some serious cinematic damage.

This way, when I walk into the theater on Thursday, my expectations will be lower than the lowest point in the Mariana Trench. And then maybe, just maybe, I can once again enjoy an Indiana Jones adventure.

Three Sundays, three Indy films. I'd forgotten how utterly corny, and stupendously popcorn they were. Once that sunk in, 20 minutes into the first one, they were brilliant.

But they *were* meant to be corny. The first film is a great tribute to the old, episodic adventure shows/stories.

And you could actually sit through the second film?

Weeeell...actually I skipped about an hour of that one. Was too busy eating chilled monkey brains.

But if you are going to read every review about the movie, wouldn't there be quite a lot of spoilers as well? Especially if they are going to tell you exactly which parts of the screenplay are bad..

Lekhni: you bet. I already know the film frame by frame. I want to *despise* it before I grab that big bucket of popcorn :)

No popcorn! Real Indy fans eat bugs.
